AfterShokz Not Turning On (How to Fix)

My brother has been using AfterShokz headphones for a year. He never had any issues until one day when his headphones were not turning on. 

I did research for him to fix this problem.

So, if your AfterShokz is not turning on here is why it is not turning on and how you can fix it.

If your AfterShokz is not turning on it could be due to the software glitches, fully discharged battery, faulty charger or charging port, damaged power button and damaged battery. To fix your AfterShokz reset, charge for sometime, replace faulty charger or clean the charging port, repair power button and if nothing works claim warranty.

1. Reset Your AfterShokz

The first thing you should do is reset your AfterShokz because mostly glitches are responsible for the issues. 

And the best way to remove glitches is resetting your headphones. 

So, reset your AfterShokz by following the below steps.

• Turn off your headphones by pressing the Volume + button for 3 to 5 seconds.
• Then enter the headphones into pairing mode by pressing the Volume + button for 5 to 7 seconds. Your headphones will turn on, and the LED indicator will flash red and blue.
• Then press and hold the multifunction, Volume + and Volume – buttons simultaneously for 3 to 5 seconds.
• Turn off your AfterShokz, and now it is successfully reset.

2. Charge For Sometime

If reset did not work then you should charge your headphones for sometime, maybe for 1 to 2 hours. 

Because sometimes your headphones are fully discharged due to which they will take more time to re-charge and power on. 

If charging your headphones for a while doesn’t resolve the problem then try the following tips.

3. Inspect the Charger

You have charged your AfterShokz for sometime and it is still not turning on then you should inspect the charger. 

Because definitely something is wrong with your magnetic charger or charging port due to which your headphones are not getting charged. 

First you should clean the charger and headphones charging port with the rubbing alcohol. 

If this doesn’t work then you should check the charger by using another charger. If your headphones are charging with the new magnetic charger it means the old one is faulty.

4. Inspect the Power Button

You should also check your AfterShokz power button (Volume + button is the power button). 

Maybe it is stuck or not working properly due to which your headphones are not turning on. 

You should inspect the button if it is loose or stuck then go to a technician to fix it.

5. Damaged Battery

Another reason why your headphones are not turning on is that their battery is damaged. 

When the battery is not working your headphone will not hold the charge and as result won’t turn on. 

However, unfortunately you cannot replace the battery of your AfterShokz headphones. 

So, in this case you should try resetting your headphones. If it doesn’t work then read the following suggestion.

6. Return Headphones

If none of the things are working for you then you should reach out to AfterShokz experts for help. 

However, they will also tell you the basic troubleshooting that you already tried. Therefore I would suggest you return your headphones. 

You can do so by visiting the AfterShokz warranty page. You will be eligible for return if you have bought your AfterShokz within 2 years.
