So, you can also, therefore, read on!

How to Fix Skullcandy Indy Left Earbud not Charging?

Remember, these fixes only work if your Skullcandy Indy earbuds are not physically damaged.

You should go to a professional technician if your earbuds stop charging after you have dropped them on the floor or in the water.

However, if that’s not the case, read on to fix your left earbud.

1. Clean the Left Bud

The first thing you should do is clean the charging poles of your left indy earbud.

The charging poles are exposed to the external environment and earwax, due to which dirt and wax accumulate on them; as a result, electricity doesn’t pass from the case to the buds.

So, it would be best if you clean your bud.

For cleaning, you can take a soft toothbrush. Simply pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the brush and gently move onto the charging poles.

Ensure all the dirt is removed and dry before placing it in the charging case.

2. Clean Charging Case

Another thing you should do is clean the left side pins of the charging case.

Because sometimes dirt is accumulated on them due to which electricity doesn’t pass through, so, it would be best if you clean the charging case pins.

For cleaning, pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the toothpick and gently move it onto the pins.

After that, remove all the remains with the help of a soft cotton cloth and dry the pins.

Now your left indy bud and left side of the case are properly clean, so put the bud in the case to check whether or not the bud begins charging.

3. Correctly Place Bud

Sometimes you will not place the left indy bud in the case, due to which it won’t charge.

So, you should always make sure the earbud is appropriately placed in the case, and its charging poles are attached to the pins.

To make sure that you can press the bud a little bit.

But ensure you don’t apply much pressure because it can further damage the case or bud.

4. Properly Put Ear Tips on Left Bud

Ear tips are the interface between the earbuds and your ear canal. But sometimes, due to ear tips, your earbud won’t correctly sit in the case and won’t charge.

So, you should also ensure the ear tip of your left indy earbud is perfectly placed on it.

If not, then properly place and place the bud in the case to charge.

5. Reset Skullcandy Indy

You have done all the physical things that can prevent your earbud from charging. But there are also a few software things you should ensure are correct.

Because sometimes, due to them, your earbuds won’t charge. So, the first thing is to reset your Skullcandy Indy earbuds.

Resetting will remove minor glitches from the buds and increase their performance. So, it would be best if you reset your earbuds and then try to charge them.

Follow the below steps to reset your Skullcandy Indy earbuds.

  • Place both buds in the charging case.
  • Remove them from all paired devices.
  • Turn off Bluetooth on all your devices.
  • Remove only the left bud from the case. And tap its centre four times.
  • On successful reset, the LED indicator of the earbud will turn red.
  • However, if you do not see any red light, continue resetting the earbuds until you see red light.
  • After that, place the left bud in the case and charge it for a few hours.

6. Update Firmware

You should also update the firmware of your earbuds because outdated firmware versions can create malware in your earbuds.

So, it would be best if you updated your Skullcandy earbuds.

Follow the below steps to update your Skullcandy earbuds.

  • Download and install the Skullcandy app on your device.
  • Then connect your earbuds to the device and the app.
  • Open the app.
  • If an update is available, you will see a notification for that.
  • Then tap update earbuds and follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.

If the firmware fails, you should ensure the following things.

  • Ensure earbuds have at least 25% battery; if not, then first charge them.
  • You must have a good internet connection.
  • Ensure your phone or whatever device you use has a 30% battery; if not, charge it.
  • Also, make sure earbuds are connected to the phone and Skullcandy app.

7. Contact Skullcandy

If none of the solutions fixes your Skullcandy Indy charging problem. Then you should contact the Skullcandy support team for better guidance.

However, I contacted Skullcandy, and they first told me the basic troubleshooting we already discussed in this post.

At last, they will ask you to replace or return the earbuds. Usually, Skullcandy gives a one year warranty.

So, if your Skullcandy Indy is under warranty, I recommend you return them and get a new one.
