Skullcandy Jib True And It’s Case Not Charging (Fixed)

A week ago, I got my hands on the new Skullcandy Jib True wireless earbuds and I was so excited to try them out. I charged the case before using them for the first time and they worked great.

But after a week of using them, I noticed that the earbuds and the case wasn’t charging anymore.

I was really disappointed because I loved the sound quality and design of the earbuds, but now I couldn’t use them. However, I decided to fix them on my own therefore I researched online and fix them.

So, if you are in the same boat try the below troubleshooting steps.

Skullcandy Jib Not Charging

If your Skullcandy Jib True is not charging it could be due to, dirt on the charging poles and case pins, software glitches and incorrect placement of the buds in the case. To troubleshoot this problem, you will need to clean the charging poles and pins, reset the earbuds and correctly place earbuds in the case.

If you are still confused what to do in each step then read on.

1. Clean Skullcandy Jib

If your Skullcandy Jib earbuds are not charging after remaining in the case for hours. Then you should clean your Skullcandy Jib charging poles because mostly earbuds stop charging when their charging poles are covered with dirt.

Dirt on the charging poles doesn’t let them correctly connect with the pins of the charging case. As a result, earbuds don’t charge.

You will need a cotton cloth, toothpick, and rubbing alcohol to clean the earbuds.

To clean earbuds, pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the cotton cloth and apply them to the charging poles. Then remove the dirt with the soft toothpick and then clean with the cloth.

It would be best to be careful while cleaning because doing it wrong can damage your earbuds.

2. Clean Charging Case

Also, dirt on the charging case pins stops the current flow, and as a result, earbuds won’t charge.

Therefore you should also clean charging case pins. To clean charging case pins, pour a little bit of rubbing alcohol on the cotton cloth and clean the pins.

After cleaning the earbuds charging poles, and charging case pins, place buds in the case. They will start charging.

3. Reset Skullcandy Jib

If cleaning Skullcandy Jib and its charging case doesn’t work. Then reset your Skullcandy Jib earbuds.

Because sometimes, earbuds will not charge due to bugs and glitches.

And resetting earbuds will remove any glitches in them.

Sometimes the wrong placement of earbuds in the charging case doesn’t let them charge.

So, make sure to correctly place earbuds so that their charging poles connect with the charging case pins.

Skullcandy Jib Case Not Charging

If your Skullcandy Jib True case is not charging it could be due to, dirty charging port, use of third-party charging cable and faulty charging cable. To troubleshoot this, you will need to clean the charging port, use the original charging cable and replace the faulty charging cable.

1. Clean Charging Port

In most cases, the case doesn’t charge because of dirt in the charging port. Due to regular use, dirt and debris accumulate in the charging port because that charging cable doesn’t fit in the charging port.

As a result, your earbuds charging case doesn’t charge. Therefore to fix this problem, you should clean the charging case port.

Use a cotton swab to clean dirt from the charging port.

After proper cleaning, plug the charger into the case it will start working.

2. Use Original Charging Cable

Most original charging cables are small in length; that’s why most of us use extensions or third-party cables to charge the case.

Therefore the case doesn’t charge with other cables or take more time than usual because these cables are incompatible with your Skullcandy Jib case.

So, the best way is to charge the case with the original provided charging cable.

3. PC in Sleep Mode

If you are charging the case with the PC or other consoles such as Xbox or PS4, ensure they are not in sleep mode.

Because sometimes you will plug the case into your PC when it is in sleep mode, therefore case doesn’t charge even after remaining plugged in for hours.

So, make sure your PC is working when the charging case is plugged in.

4. Check Charging Cable

A faulty charging cable can also be responsible for the case charging issue. Mostly charging cables doesn’t work when they are regularly twisted.

Therefore you should check your charging cable by plugging in another charging cable.

If the case starts charging with the new cable, your current cable is damaged.

And it would be best if you bought a new charging cable.
