Razer Hammerhead Not Charging (Fixed)

Razer Hammerhead are great earbuds because of their excellent sound quality. These earbuds don’t have many issues except one that is charging error.

So, if your Razer Hammerhead earbuds are not charging, here is why they are not charging and how you can fix them.

Razer Hammerhead Not Charging

If your Razer Hammerhead is not charging it could be due to dirt on the charging poles and pins, software glitches, outdated firmware, incorrectly placed earbuds, abnormal temperature, faulty charging cable and adapter. To fix it, you should clean the charging poles and pins, reset and update earbuds, correctly place buds in the case, maintain temperature and replace the charging cable or adapter.

Razer Hammerhead Not Charging

1. Clean Razer Hammerhead

Mostly your Razer Hammerhead won’t charge because of dirt or debris on its charging poles. Also, regular use of earbuds will build up earwax on the earbud’s charging poles.

Because of that, the electricity will not pass, and the earbuds will not charge.

Therefore to fix this problem, you should clean your Razer Hammerhead earbuds. You will need a soft cotton cloth, toothpick, and rubbing alcohol for cleaning.

Gently pour a little bit of rubbing alcohol on the cotton cloth and apply it on the earbud’s charging poles. Then slowly rub dirt from charging poles with the toothpick; clean all dirt with the cotton cloth.

Now, your Razer Hammerhead is ready to charge.

2. Clean Charging Case

After cleaning the charging poles of the earbuds, clean the charging pins of the case because earbuds charge when the charging poles connect with the charging pins.

However, when the pins are dirty, they won’t pass the electricity. So, in this case you need to clean them.

For cleaning, pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the soft cotton cloth and clean the pins. After completing the cleaning, make sure the pins are dry.

Then place both Razer buds in the case to check whether or not they begin to charge.

If not, then read the following solutions.

3. Properly Place Earbuds

Sometimes we don’t correctly place Razer Hammerhead in the case, due to which they will not charge.

Mostly the mistake is we don’t connect the earbuds’ charging poles with the case’s pins.

This can be due to incorrectly placed ear tips on the earbuds or damaged pins of the charging case.

So, when placing the Razer Hammerhead in the case, ensure ear tips are properly set on the buds.

Another mistake due to which your earbuds may not be charging is that you are not closing the charging case lid.

Because when the case lid remains open, earbuds don’t sit correctly in the case and don’t charge.

So, you should make sure to close the case lid after placing the earbuds.

This way, your earbuds will correctly connect with the case and begin charging.

4. Reset Razer Hammerhead

If the above solutions did not work for your Razer Hammerhead, maybe they have software glitches due to which they are not charging.

Because when we use earbuds, we try different settings to get the most out of earbuds which will develop glitches in your earbuds.

So, you should reset your Razer Hammerhead to remove glitches.

Here is how you can reset your Razer Hammerhead earbuds.

  1. To reset, place both earbuds in the charging case.
  2. Then close the charging case lid and wait for five seconds.
  3. After that take earbuds out of the case and reset is complete.

After resetting, check whether or not the problem is fixed.

If not, try resetting earbuds two to three times more because sometimes, one reset doesn’t remove glitches.

5. Update Firmware

Outdated firmware of your Razer Hammerhead can also be the reason why your earbuds are not charging because the latest firmware update will remove glitches from your earbuds and increase their performance.

So, if your Razer Hammerhead firmware is not updated, upgrade it.

Follow the below steps to update your Razer Hammerhead firmware.

  • First, download and install the Razer app on your device.
  • Then open the app.
  • Connect your Razer Hammerhead with the app and select them from the app.
  • In the app you can check whether or not firmware is available.
  • If available then update it.

6. Maintain Temperature of Earbuds

In extreme cold or hot temperatures, your Razer earbuds can stop charging. Because they have lithium-ion batteries that stop working in extreme temperatures.

So, if you have been using your earbuds in a sauna, steam room, or cold temperature.

Due to that, they had stopped charging. Therefore first, bring your Razer earbuds temperature back to normal, or we can say room temperature.

Place your earbuds in the room for 2 to 3 hours. After that, try to charge your earbuds.

7. Drain Earbuds

If your Razer earbuds are not charging completely, their battery level remains the same after hours of charge. Then you should drain your earbud’s battery for 24 hours.

This way, earbuds will use a complete battery, and all minor bugs will be removed. To do so, first unpair and remove earbuds from all devices.

Then place both buds out of the charging case for 24 hours. This way, earbuds will remain turned on in search of the device for pairing, and their battery will completely drain.

After draining the battery, place both buds in the case to fully charge.

8. Faulty Charging Cable or Wall Adapter

If your earbuds are not charging then maybe your earbuds charging cable or wall adapter is faulty.

Because of that faulty charging cable or wall adapter, your charging case is not charging, resulting in your earbuds not charging. The first thing that you should do is plug the charging cable into the case and see its LED indicator.

If it is flashing, then your charging cable is not faulty. However, if your charging case LED is not flashing, the charging cable or wall adapter is faulty.

Try another wall adapter with the current charging cable; if that doesn’t work, try a different charging cable with the present wall adapter.

In this way, you will figure out which thing is causing the issue. So, buy that thing (charging cable or wall adapter) a new one.

9. The Damaged Battery of the Case or Earbuds

Suppose none of the above solutions are working for you. Then chances are your earbuds, or the charging case battery is faulty.

If the charging case battery is defective, it will not give power to the earbuds.

And if the earbud’s battery is defective, it will not hold a charge if you charge them for hours.

So, in this case, you need to replace the case’s battery or your earbuds.

Conclusion

If your Razer Hammerhead is not charging you should try the following fixes.

  • Clean the earbuds charging poles.
  • Clean the charging case pins.
  • Properly place both earbuds in the case.
  • Reset Razer earbuds.
  • Update firmware.
  • Make sure the earbud’s temperature is normal. If not then bring it back.
